AdmissionsOur deepest concern is to be able to offer each child an educational experience that will make him or her a more thoughtful, insightful, and understanding human being. In selecting our students, our first consideration for admission focuses on the desire of both the parents and the child to have a Montessori education. Children's House Admission Process:We ask that you and your child come in to observe one of our pre-school classrooms. This is a wonderful time to see how our classrooms run, as well as meet the teachers in the room. After the observation, if everyone agrees that Granite Bay Montessori is a good fit, we will offer enrollment.Elementary Admission Process:The first step begins with an observation of the Montessori classroom. Observations are scheduled during the early morning, as this is a good time to see the teacher giving lessons. After the observation we will set up a time for you to bring your child in for an assessment with the teacher. For kindergarten through third grade, we will schedule the assessment for after school. For the older student, we recommend that he/she spend a day with us. Assessments allow the teacher and student time to get acquainted. The teacher will assess the student academically and socially to ensure that the child will flourish in the Montessori environment. If you would like to explore Granite Bay Montessori for your kindergarten child or would like to discuss a transfer of your older child into our elementary program, please call us at (916) 791-7849 or email us at office@gbmontessori.com.
